The 17th edition of the International Conference on Social Representations (CIRS) will be organized in Brest, France, by the Laboratoire de Psychologie: Cognition, Comportement, Communication (LP3C), part of the Université de Bretagne Occidentale, with the support of the Réseau Mondial Serge Moscovici (REMOSCO). The main theme of the event is: “The future in representations: grasping our world”.
Since 1992, CIRS, an international scientific event dedicated to disseminating and promoting the development of Social Representation Theory, has been held every two years, alternating between Europe and outside Europe (Bogota, 2023; Athens - online -, 2021; Buenos Aires, 2018; Marseille, 2016 ; Sao Paulo, 2014; Evora, 2012; Gammarth, 2010; Bali, 2008; Rome, 2006; Guadalajara, 2004; Stirling, 2002; Montreal, 2000; Mexico City, 1998; Aix-en-Provence, 1996; Rio de Janeiro, 1994 and Ravello, 1992).
This edition is supported by the LP3C, a multi-site laboratory that brings together researchers from various schools and approaches to social representations (EHESS - Paris V, Montpellier, Genève - Lausanne). Since its creation, the LP3C research team at the UBO site has been committed to this theoretical approach. Its work is visible in the annual conferences of the Journées d'Etudes en Psychologie Sociale, and in the publications to which some of them have given rise.
